Tales Told By Crimson

AKA: Cat convinces herself she's out of the running for a competition and then somehow wins first place

Recently I have had the honour to be a part of the team for the trailer of Tales Told By Crimson, a project that was developed as a part of our minor in Development For Visual Storytelling. Our team even won a prize! I was caught off-guard by the win; I was under the impression that I wouldn’t be a part of the winning team since I only joined the team in the trailer stage rather than the development of the concept itself, but as it turned out I still got to share in the win! I’m super proud of the whole team, everyone delivered amazing work. The synergy was great and I think our shared passion for the project really helped elevate it to the next level.

I participated as storyboarder and animator working on the trailer. I’ve shared my process of the shots I animated in seperate posts, they’re linked in the gallery below :). You can find the trailer to the full project at the bottom of this post, as well as links to the rest of our awesome team. I absolutely recommend checking them out!

Special thanks to our teachers, Frank Verheggen & Albert van ‘t Hooft, for guiding us through the minor and helping us make the best possible version of the projects. An extra thank you also goes out to the Keep An Eye Foundation, who sponsored this minor and made all of this possible! And of course thanks to all the experienced artists and animators who made time to provide us with insightful masterclasses and feedback, it was super inspiring to be able to learn from talented creators from the industry.
