getting paid to draw my own characters? sounds like a win >:)
For this particular commission I was asked to draw one of the secondary antagonists of my book Rust & Revolutionaries; Hephaestus, professional tech-guy and social butterfly. The idea was for the commission to be used as a wallpaper background, so I used that to my advantage in placing the holograms in spots where they could complement app icons or widgets for extra immersion. It was a lot of fun to work on this project, and quite pleasant to just be able to draw characters I’m comfortable drawing. Not having to think too hard about the character design left me with room to just have fun with the posing, and I think the end result turned out all the better for it!
