there's not much to say about this one, but I'll ramble anyway
Some time ago I found myself at a wonderful event called Playgrounds: The Art Department. Absolutely would recommend it for creatives in the illustration & animation field, its a really cool event! I always go home feeling inspired, if not a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people haha. This last time I found myself inspired to pay a little more attention to my foregrounds, and how I could create depth by blurring things closer to the “camera.” I put it into use with the artwork below– as the astute observer will notice I completely ignored the background, but one step at a time okay xD. It was a lot of fun to mess around with framing in this way, as a character-focused artist I don’t often pay a lot of attention to the rest of the artwork but having a good background (or in this case, foreground) can really make a difference! I’ve got a ways to go, but I’ll try to use this technique more often to create a bit of depth in my work >:).
